Mark Edwards is best known for his work in the classic metal band Overlorde from the east coast. Mark has been gigging with the band for years now with his trusty 83' pin stripped flying V. This cd compiles his instrumental demos from 1992-1994 which have been remastered with CD quailty digital sound. Mark takes a different approach to playing on this cd as you won't hear any chugging classic metal guitar riffs here. Mark drives home upbeat, charismatic instrumental guitar works that flow endlessly.

"Spur Of The Moment" is a standout tune for its in your face jammy rythems and spiking leads. He really lets loose with speed runs, smokin' bends, and finger tapping. He carries a main melody line throughout the song that helps move the song along. "Its Been A Long Time" is a fun acoustic based number with some great slide based leads. He also blends effects together to give his slide leads a saucy tone. "Sting of the V" shows off Mark's classic metal influences with a technical rythems and leads. He suprised me by adding vintage 70' sounding keyboard playing for the Deep Purple vibe. The song was well writen and the musical twist and turns keep me wanting more.

GWA is a cool instrumental cd that covers a few different genres of guitar driven music. Mark is a great guitar player and its good to see guitartists branch out from their bands to try something different. Keep that V flying!
