Element 115

USA Instrumental hard rock / metal

Element 115 is a band packed with great great musicians. These guys are on the top of their games, and have developed some amazing skills as players. This CD was a lot of fun to review that was for sure and they submitted a press kit to die for. Loved the aliens and glow sticks guys. Actually, these guys list a glow stick company as an endorser, now that's impressive! Lets move on to the music. This 3 song demo rocks! D*rty W*rds has a killer guitar riff that will rip the flesh off your back and knock you senseless. Great guitar leads are present through out the song. Reminds of the Racer X style of shredding. Another cool addition to the song is the "classic movie" chick voices overdubbed throughout the song. I think they are trying to seduce you with their music! Track two is a cover of Racer X's classic rendition of "Y.R.O." I think this one could show up the older version. It's practically note for note. They don't ruin the song by adding in their own solos and improves. The just added a little more effects processing than the X boys did back in the day. Jae Valentine hits Paul Gilbert's lead on the dot. I bet you could pay the leads back to back and have a hard time telling who's who. Then lastly "Sleepwalk" was a real treat. It's a cover of an old 1950's prom song. WOW is all I can say. It's very melodic and dreamy sounding. Now wonder the girls went nuts for it back in the day.  Um guys, PLAY THIS SONG LIVE, it's safe to say it'll get you some groupie chicks. I like Jae's use of the trem bar to accent parts of the melody line, he really makes that guitar weep. This has been one of the most fun demos to review yet. It really stands of from the crowd, and shows that musicians still have imagination! The recording quality is great, no crappy sound here boys!  So please drop by www.jsvcolorfast.com and pick up your copy today!

Also, in there press package I received a copy of their Reebok "Hard Court" TV commercial. No doubt it was one of the coolest commercials I've seen. Showing clips of tennis players past and present, depicting how much more aggressive the sport of tennis has gotten over the years and why Reebok shoes aid in your playing. Then of course the modern clips have some smoking guitar licks and riffs that accompany it. From insane trem bar screams and dives to wild finger tapping passages. I wish all TV commercials had a sound track like this one, I wouldn't change channels when they came on!
