The Stand Off "Demo 2.0"
USA
The Standoff is a Hard Rock
with Metal and Punk influences hailing from North Plainfield, New Jersey.
They have a real heavy vibe and write total head banging tunes! I found
the band to have a Anthrax feel to them (late 1990's Anthrax). The Stand
Off writes real solid guitar riffs and defiantly have a hard edge in the
song writing department. If your into ballsy guitar riffs then I think
you'll love this band. The are very tight as a group and the music clearly
represents that. "Elements" track one of this three song demo,
kicks the crap out you from the first riff to last. I also really liked
how well dialed in guitar tone is. Its real heavy and aggressive, but
is super clear at the same time. The tone will literally cut you in half.
"Control" is another ball kicker that is riff ridden. I could
just imagine the mosh pit at these guy's shows! "Metal Cage"
was my favorite song from the demo. The main guitar riff really lead the
song along, with it's palm muted melody. Looking back, this a a band worth
checking out if your into really heavy and melodic guitar riffing. The
band is a lock and loaded machine just waiting for their break. I really
think fans of hard hitting metal will love this stuff. If you have a pacemaker
I don't suggest listening!
